DR. MAUNG MAUNG THEIN

Dr.Maung MaungThein was born in Yangon in 1953 and educated at St. Paul in his childhood. He received Ph.D. (International Economic Law), LL.M, LL.B, B.A (Law), Pg. dip in Applied Psychology from Yangon University and he is also an associate of ANZIIF. He served as part time tutor in Law Department, Yangon University, assistant director, Department of Housing, senior manager in Insurance and Compensation Department, MFSL – Myanmar Five Star Line, head of department, general manager, Myanmar Insurance Enterprise, chairman,Myanmar Insurance Enterprise Oversight Committee, and deputy minister of Finance. He led implementing the Myanmar’s first stock exchange. Currently he is serving as member of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Central Committee led by the state counsellor and the president, consultant of UMFCCI, independent director of Construction and Housing Development Bank and chairman of Myanmar Finance and Investment Co., Ltd. He had already published over 400 English-Myanmar articles and 6 books. Insurance Law Text Book written together with his wife Dr.Mon Mon Tar was enacted as text book for 3rd year law students. He received Presidential Excellence Performance Award in 2016.
